What to see around Sunnybrook North York

Sunnybrook also near Bridle Path and York Mills is a district in the North York area of Toronto in the GTA. It’s also near the Vaughan area, and is just a short drive away by car, or a quick ride by public transportation. The area actually is now considered to be part of Toronto, even though it was traditionally a distinct neighbourhood belonging to the North York Region. The Northwest area is called York Mills, which is near a place referred to as Hoggs Hollow and the northeast area is around the communities of Lawrence Park and North Toronto. The southeast is the place we call Sunnybrook Park. Yonge street is one of the main bordering roads of this little area, but it also comes across as being close to the Don River Valley.

This area features the well known Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, which teaches academic health sciences to students at the university and post graduate levels. At the same time, the doctors working here also deal with patients, especially with trauma care, as this hospital is also the largest trauma centre in Canada. It also hosts the largest Veterans Centre in Canada for World War 2 and Korean War veterans. What an outstanding service they provide to take care of these respectful veterans that helped make our country what it is today.

Around Sunnybrook North York, there is also this cool place called The Estates of Sunnybrook. These estates originate from two houses of the past, back in the early twentieth century. These houses are the McLean House and the Vaughan House. The first is a house that one man commissioned to be designed by George Moorhouse and King Associates for himself and his family. It was designed in the Georgian style and is quite a spectacle to see if you’re interested in interior design or home decoration. This house, even though it was built such a long time ago stands the test of time as one of the best decorated estates in the GTA in our opinion. It is now a Designers’ Showcase home after being rebuilt and remade when the family moved away. Vaughan House is the second of these spectacular sights to see around Sunnybrook North York. It was built in 1931 in the style formally referred to as Elizabethan decoration, which is common when talking about country manor home design. It has all the appropriate decoration for this style, including cornices, plaster ceilings and carved wood pieces nested all throughout the estate. It’s now commonly used for private and corporate events where social dinners take place and parties for successful business people. It’s also a very environmentally friendly place to see, as there are many food services and support that you can expect to see here, including community wellness programs, local sourcing and Fairtrade provisions. It was labeled as one of Canada’s greenest employers and that’s why it’s such an amazing place to work at or just visit if you are strolling by the Sunnybrook area near Vaughan Ontario.
