Top Attractions in Toronto

Toronto is the biggest and most populated city in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) of Ontario. It includes various municipalities including East York, Etobicoke, North York, Old Toronto, Scarborough, and York. It’s a great city to visit, even if you are travelling from half way across the world. Theres so many things to do here that you can’t pass by it without stopping and checking it all out. If you are originally from a Toronto suburb like Vaughan, ON, there is a really good chance that you have already been to downtown Toronto several times, because it’s just so popular to go there and there are endless attractions to experience in every direction and of every variety. You can get all kinds of food from around the world, and new restaurants are always popping up in downtown, which get all the attention. Especially the new hipster joints like Sweet Jesus, but there is so much more than that.

The number on attraction for Toronto on the top of everyone’s list has definitely got to be the CN Tower. I mean this tower is amazing, it’s the tallest structure in North America, with over five hundred and fifty meters of height. It can be seen from many points of the city, and it’s a stunning sight in the night time when it lights up. Its reflection on lake Ontario is an especially beautiful thing to see during the summer time. The whole harbor front is a real masterpiece of city planning and architectural design. You can enjoy the 360 degree restaurant at the top of the tower, which actually rotates in a circle while you get to enjoy the delicious food that the luxury restaurant offers you. It’s an ideal place to take a date and to go for a romantic and fancy dinner. The food is great, the drinks are better, and the view is fantastic.

Another top attraction in this wonderful city is the Royal Ontario Museum, otherwise known as the ROM. It’s one of the best museums in the city, featuring an outstanding display of architectural mastery that you can see from the outside with its abstract shape. The Rogers Centre is another fascinating place to stop by and check out. It’s a massive, domed area that hosts many sporting events of the past, but recently it is mainly used by the Toronto Blue Jays baseball team. It has an awesome retractable roof that opens and closes depending on weather conditions. Although it’s a massive building it could use a little work on the exterior, as it just is covered with solid concrete, which isn’t a very appealing design to look at. Finally, the last place on our list is Casa Loma, which somewhat resembles a medieval castle. It’s a pretty huge building with almost 100 rooms, making a nice place to explore. It is now a museum and can take you a whole day to walk through the many halls and see all the different and fascinating rooms it has to offer.
